: About Me

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Art, and have spent my life in the world of textiles and home furnishings as a Designer, Styling Director, and Product Development Manager.

I've designed and/or styled product lines for wall covering and upholstery patterns, as well as a variety of pillows, throws, tapestries, table runners, and more.

My positions were always in the international marketplace, so I've had the wonderful opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe and additionally, have worked with people from all over the world.

As much as I loved my job(s), the lay-offs in the textile and home furnishings industry have been overwhelming. By 2006, I'd been laid off three times in a five year period, and four times in a ten year span! (Two companies closed divisions, the other two companies dissolved completely!)

As they say, "when one door closes, another opens"...I soon realized that it was time to take my knowledge and experience and reinvent myself. At first, I invested in training as an Image Consultant, since I'd had years of experience working professionally with clients and wanted to help others do the same. Yet, my love for the home furnishings field kept gnawing at me. So, I recently started my own business in home staging and decorating. Not only am I utilizing my background, but I'm enjoying being my own boss and scheduling my hours to fit my needs!

My other love is writing! Many family members and friends have told me over the years that I'd missed my calling. Now I have the opportunity to write, as well as help people create homes that they can enjoy living in!

My favorite memory ...

Wow, there are way too many to choose from! However, if I'm forced to pick one, it would be when I was little and my sister, my cousin and I stayed overnight at my Great Grandma Whitney's house. The four of us would sleep in her huge bed and giggle all night long! I miss her greatly!

To share information, for relaxation, and enjoyment!

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I'm presently reading "eat, pray, love." I seldom watch television but when I do I watch Gray's Anatomy, and HGTV's decorating shows. I enjoy calming music (Michael Buble, and Josh Groban)

There are three! Our wedding, and the births of our two daughters!

My inspiration ...

My Mom! A very confident, optimistic, and caring lady! And...my daughters, whose young ideas spur me to think beyond the confines of my generation.
