Barn Story I grew up on a little farm that usually boasted about 5 steers, 2 milk cows, a few nasty chickens and about a million barn cats. Every Fall, Dad, my two little brothers and I made sure that our old metal barn was crammed to the rafters with hay bales to get the cows through the winter. When accomplished, that pungent smelling stuff would form into two huge walls with a narrow two foot walkway right down the middle - from the tall entrance, back about sixty feet - to the little milking area in back.
