About me - Dorothy Baum

About me

I'm not sure how to write a reputable "Bio" for myself. After reading so many "Featured Writer" bios, I knew there was nothing I could say about myself that could come close to holding a candle to them.

I have no fascinating claims to accomplishments. Beyond High School, there have been no opportunities for higher education short of what Life has taught me.Though I have had a few jobs that are unusual, and some not so unusual, I've always given 110% of myself to do the job to the best of my abilities. However, I find I have a knack for writing, an eye for photography and graphic creativity. I've put my heart into those areas when Life arrives with its darkest moments.

I'm only an aging woman trying to eke out a reasonable living. I can only claim to a simple life with quite a few bumps in the road. These things keep me humble and make me who I am today.

I must mention the one other factor that helps me maintain sanity, my elderly Yorkie, Morton. He has been my anchor and mainstay. UPDATE: Morton left me and this world January 7, 2010 @ 6:01 AM (PST). I miss him so much and my world is coming unglued.

You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.” Anonymous At the time I bought that piece of ceramic, Morton was then ten years old. Those words got me to thinking, “How will I deal with Morton’s death?” ...
