Paul had grown to hate everything about his wife, Maxine. From how freely she spent his paycheck at fashion boutiques with the rest of the surgeon's wives, to the way she complained and violently flailed her arms when having to prepare his two eggs each morning, which she served either raw or burnt, Paul could no longer name one admirable quality about the woman he married sometime ago.
