Hi and welcome to my page on Helium.

Pete Buckley's my real name - no hiding here - and I'm based near Blackburn in the North of England. My passion is for travel - especially to the World's high places and wilderness areas - so most of what I write for Helium will be travel related, though I will at least try and make an effort to diversify. No promises though!

I run a website called easywayup.com on which are posted stories and photos of mountain trips and other such items from the UK, Europe and further afield. My first book to be published is entitled "31 Days in a Campervan" and tells the tale of a journey around New Zealand I did in 2005 with Jacqui who's now my wife. It is available from my site or from Amazon in the UK or US as is my recently finished second book "A Long Walk in the Alps" which recounts my experiences on a summer journey through the Swiss Alps.
