Chris de Serres is an advocate for survivors of sexual abuse. He founded the organization (Wo)Men Speak Out with his wife, and fellow advocate, Ophelia de Serres.
His writing focuses on abuse issues and he features primarily in the (Wo)Men Speak Out monthly minizine. As well, he writes short stories with nature, climbing, and philosophical themes.
When he is not advocating and writing he travels around the globe speaking in public forums to help break the culture of silence with abuse.
His hobbies including rock climbing and mountaineering, travel, reading, and is an avid chess player.

I grew up listening to Michael Jackson on the radio. I bought the red, zippered jacket. I tried my damndest to Moonwalk, and failed. As a young, self-conscious, impressionable youth growing up I believed he WAS the King of Pop. He made me feel like I was the King of Pop. I wanted to be Bad, and I wished I could tell people to Beat It! It seems like his entire life played out in front of our eyes.
