Born in the Houston, Texas area in the mid-60s, I was raised on a mix of classic rock (50s and 60s) and good old-fashioned country.
This gave me a philosophy of rebelliousness against the status quo, mixed with a touch of down-home common sense, which I try to bring to my writing. Challenging established beliefs while showing my ideas aren't unreasonable is literally my bread and butter.
I am the founder of House Wyldstar Association, an organization dedicated to the empowerment of marginalized citizens like myself through social participation (like my writing) and environmental development.
The idea that nonprofits should not generate revenue isn't realistic. Yes, most of them are 'charities' but even charities need to pay the bills and in recent years, donations have been dropping dramatically. If we lived in the perfect world then every noble and worthy nonprofit organization would have all the funds they need, simply out of the goodness of the society's convictions and generosity.
