I had recently came across a similar subject; "can you be friends with your children?" I believe we would like to be friends with our children. They are the people our children tell their most private thoughts too, who they prefer to be around and who seem to have influence over our children. But can we really? Do we really want to be that kind of parent? I have also heard parents explain that they are the alpha and their children will know that!
