When I was a little bitty kid my mom used to tell me that Valentines day was not a real holiday but more like a day that was made up by gift companies and card makers so that they could have even more days when people would run around like crazy buying all of their stuff so that they weren't in trouble with their loved ones at home who expected to be given a Valentines day gift or card as a way of saying 'I love you' on the day when most other couples are doing the same thing.
