Gregg Johns is 49 years of age and a native of Jackson, MS. He is married and has one son. Gregg is a psychologist by trade. He has published psychological research and book reviews in a number of peer-reviewed journals. Gregg is also a musician and has released 3 progressive rock cds of his recording project, Slychosis. As a psychologist for 20 years, I have seen several different manifestations of self-mutilation in clients. My personal clinical experiences have paralleled those described in the writings of Steven Levenkron, Marsha Linehan, Armando Favazza, and Merilee Strong in that self-mutilation is a language of pain.
