As an English major at Sonoma State University (I graduated with a B.A. in 2004), I loved analyzing literature from a biblical perspective. I found sermon illustration fodder in everything I read, particularly in stories that deal with good versus evil. For example, I could write reams about how the Star Wars saga addresses nearly every spiritual issue including the nature of temptation and redemption. I heartily admit that I used class discussions as an opportunity to share my faith and have often joked that I can go from zero to preacher in sixty seconds. More than anything else, I see writing as a way to share the love of Jesus and help people to see how very much He is interested in people's every day lives and how precious each and every human being is to Him because they are created in His image and were created to receive His love. My prayer is that my writing will be an encouragement for people to reach out to Jesus and everything He has for them. To that end, I offer this prayer. To paraphrase Ben Kenobi, "May the Lord be with you!"
