I am a mother and grandmother with a daughter (single mother of two)in college and a son in the Army. My son will be going to Iraq though we are still unsure as to when. My daughter-in-law and young grandson will soon be moving to live where my son is stationed.
I have an education and have gone to the time and trouble and paid the expenses to have a well-developed and informed perspective on many issues. Being of the age to be a grandmother, I have certainly seen some things that serve to give me a sense of history and perspective also. Having seen so much, I understand that people are not "islands" and the foibles of human nature just lead people to do what is easiest for them. All things considered, that means everyone deserves a little slack and to be forgiven for being human.

This is a very dangerous precedent-setting case and America must wake up and look at what it could mean for everyone-all of us-each and every one of us. Sure Texas is the most egomaniacal state in the Union, but as a "bellwether" state, what happens here-will eventually happen there (where you are)too.
