: About Me

I'm a 50 year old African American women who's been married three times and became a widow from my last marriage. My maiden name is Mackey. I have four sons ranging in ages from 23yrs. to 33yrs. I have ten grandchildren and I come from a large family myself. I am at this time engaged to a wonderful man who is my most advid supporter, I've done writing for,"Writers of the Round Table" in New York and have become a part of their writing teleclasses. I love to write short and humorous nonfictional stories as well as fictional. I also love writing poetry and I'm currently with an agency who's trying to place me with a publishing house. I've begun writing my first book "Project Bio", the memoires of life in Public Housing in Chicago. I had previouly joined Helium under the name Gail Buckley with two acticle's. I also have a web page for my poetry at www.murkeypoetryshop.org . I've always loved the flexiblity that words adds to my life because it has afforded me a way to communicate in my own unique way with those close to me and the world around me.I have so many wonderful stories to share with the world at large and will never give up on the possibility of captivating an audience of my own who knows my work and enjoys reading it as much or more than I do writing it. I hope to be able to donate some of my works to the different charities on this site and become a part of this family. I've most recently had my first professional article published in the "Fantasy Gazetteer.com" in the "2009" # 11 first of the year issue under Gail Mackey.

Why I write ...

I write because expressing myself comes so much easier through written words.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

all types of things,court T.V. shows, nature channel and the discovery channel, all the people in my life.

My first job ...

was as a teenager working with younger children.

My best moment ...

was finding out that I am truly a writer from my soul and I love it.

My inspiration ...

God is my first, then my mom,my family and my fiance.

This old house, sometimes bleak and cold, what a place to run coming from outsides clouds and chills, entering inferior and old. Let down your pain once inside, exchange sad stories cash in on mother's glories, secure she knows why your there, answers to every question in her prayer's. Back you from the place you've run, leave all heaped feelings of shame, relieve all woes, troubles, on the welcome matt, with those sad foot steps. Though this house, a cold worn draft, laughter, restoration are her craft. SO remember, at last you enter, a place where love, is the sole of thy mentor.
