This is one of those frustrating debates where I feel compelled to argue for both sides. While it is true that an elderly person's doctors and professional support system has specialized expertise, this can all be trumped by the care and familiarity of family members. It is also true that a family member isn't hindered by beurocracy or finances to the extent found in the health care community.
