Millions of thoughts pop in and out of my head on a daily basis! In order to remember some of those thoughts, I learned long ago to jot down a word or two, so I could follow up later. Often times, those fleeting thoughts, words and ideas were what I humbly considered to be worthy of researching or writing about, and I have accumulated a notebook full of pages.
I've been interested in writing since I was a teen. I kept most of those notes written carelessly on torn pieces of paper. I dug them out recently, and, considering I had no formal training at that time, weren't half bad to read! I always did well on essay type reports in school and found myself writing and editing on the High School Yearbook staff. As much as I enjoyed it, I never pursued writing as a career.
As life went on, I had a few opportunities to incorporate writing in my varied job fields, which ran the gamut from composing letters for the boss, to writing articles for Company Newsletters. I dabbled with writing and submitting a few articles to magazines, but it seemed more of a recreational interest at that time. Later, after children were raised, I landed a job at a large, worldwide Ad Agency, and in time, was given an opportunity to try my hand at copy-writing!
And now, with time being more available in my life, I want to give myself this opportunity to expand my horizons, test the writing waters and offer some of my thoughts and expressions on Helium!
