Mary Rieser is a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor and founded Narconon of Georgia as an alternative to incarceration in 2001. A late night encounter with a homeless girl at a Waffle House led to a fulltime endeavor to stop drug abuse. She took the girl into her home, learned that she was addicted to crack cocaine, and eventually took her to a drug treatment center. Through this experience Mary learned that there was not enough workable treatment available and founded Narconon in Georgia. (Narconon boasts 135 centers worldwide.) She originally started Narconon in tandem with a Drug Court Judge as a pilot to see the feasibility of treatment instead of incarceration. When the pilot proved that treatment does work, Mary recruited permanent staff and established Narconon of Georgia to be around for the long-haul.
Narconon offers effective treatment with a 76% success rate.
Drug prevention and education classes are given to hundreds of children every year.
Mary has worked as a Registered Nurse in Cardiology and was a business consultant for corporate executives for a number of years before founding Narconon in Georgia.
