Being an Aquarian, I'm very comfortable with water and the cold environment. As a result, I feel at home with the cold weather which prevails during most part of the year in New York City where I live for the past seven years. I started writing very early in life, at about the age of 12, when my writing skill was noticed by my then English teacher who recommended that I should pursue a course of study in journalism. However, I was more interested in accounting after graduating from high school in Nigeria, my place of birth, even though I was already paying my dues as a young writer, submitting articles for publication in local newspapers. Eventually, I abandoned accounting and stayed on with writing, and worked for several publications on freelance basis, until I started working for the BBC in Lagos as the assistant to the correspondent, the job I did for over 10 years. Presently, I work full time with Fairweather Realty as a licensed real estate sales agent on contract basis. I am happily married with five children, whose ages range between 13 and 27, and two of whom are graduates of accounting. With a degree in political science, and the desire to obtain a masters in public administration, my next interest is to work in the government establishment where I can positively impact on the lives of ordinary people.

I am writing to add my little voice to those of numerous writers who have written on the life and time of Tim Russert, the Washington DC bureau chief of NBC. The news of the veteran journalist's death came to most people like a thief in the night. Having worked till the last minute of his sudden death from complications associated with heart problems, gave Tim away as a workhalic. Given the fact that he died on the job is a testimony to the fact that Tim died for his first love. His time on earth was well spent considering the number of tributes paid so far from different people from all w...
