I am an expatriate Australian living and working in Los Angeles. My family lived for six years in Hong Kong prior to coming to the USA. I work as the embryology laboratory supervisor for a private reproductive medicine clinic in Beverly Hills. Via my professional and my personal life I have become aware of the importance of the Mind / Body interaction in our everyday lives. Particularly in the way stress can manifest itself into many physical problems, including the devastating effect on fertility. I trained at the Center for Personal Power (http://www.ctr4personalpower.com) to become a certified Hypnotherapist and I am thrilled to introduce people to the powerful tool of hypnosis that can break long held habits that keep one hostage in their own lives. Completing my Ph.D. in molecular biology in 2002 with more than thirty peer-reviewed articles published in medical journals I became addicted to writing. Living in countries and cultures where I am a minority has given me an insight into the strengths and struggles of minority cultures.
I enjoy researching and writing academic articles and have published a number of non-fiction articles on women's health and on equality in education. I feel that history has shown that equal education opportunities does not lead to equal educational achievement. True integration and representation of diverse cultures, all socioeconomic states, different sexual orientations and both genders in society's leadership roles, not mere 'tolerance of such diverse groups' is a true measure of a society's greatness.
My writing includes fiction short stories in the genres of science fiction and mystery / suspense.
I am the proud mother of two successful children who continue to work with the learning disability dyslexia rather than let it steal their dreams.
