The streets of Harlem NYC were my stomping grounds since my inception and for 18 years they tempered my mind and soul in the harsh realities of existence.
Yet, those harsh realities instilled life long lessons in me and coupled with the strength and infinite love of my family, forged the reflection I see in the mirror today.
My life in New York City is now simply a vestige of a long distant past, as I was swift to pounce on the first opportunity to escape and find greener pastures. As it turns out, those greener pastures were found a mere 3000 miles away in sunny Southern California, where I promptly relocated myself with the assistance of a past employer and have now laid the groundwork for a more permanent existence here.
Currently, my actual profession is software engineer, or more commonly, computer geek. While my appearance is less geeky than most, never judge a technical manual by its cover, for I could easily express the finer qualities of building a watch when I am asked for the time.
In my spare time, I have always enjoyed reading and writing, and I often find that my only escape from societies plagues of ignorance is to bury myself into the minds (books) of the writers or to express my frustrations with humanities self proclaimed superiority by writing myself.
I can write about most things, but I tend to have a proclivity to write about items that interest me most, for instance the plight of the pit bull, how to get rid of a girl in 10 days or why religion is holding back humanity. Honestly, I can go on and on. This is hardly the location for a long winded listing,...just look out for my work and comment on it. I enjoy everyones thoughts, how else could I compliment my own?

"Pressuring" to me is a word that has some negative connotations to it, much like "forcing" or "subduing",....and anyone with a recollection of their teenage years would agree applying pressure to a teenager can only serve to push them further away from the intended objective. So, while I am writing on the yes side, I do not agree that parents are justified to pressure their children. Instead, I would say that parents are justified to encourage their children to attend college, with the understanding that ultimately the choice rests in the hands of that young adult. My teenage years were f...
