About me

Jay Moody was born to a large, Creek Indian and Scots-Irish family from Pensacola, Florida. A versatile artist, Jay is a singer/songwriter who peforms under the moniker of Lojah as well as an academic. Growing up in a military family, Jay was brought up on all three U.S. coasts in diverse areas such as New Orleans, Maryland and California's Bay Area while always calling Florida his home.

Jay Studied the Russian language in the United States Navy, he has worked in archaeology and is currently a University student of linguistics and cultural anthropology and a practitioner of the Muskogee Creek Stomp Dance tradition.

His literary content revolves around down-to-earth socio-political commentary, and spiritualism woven together with all things pertinent to the human condition. He encourages a life in balance with the natural environment while celebrating the finer points of creation.

In 1990 I started driving. I was never a rich kid and I couldn't always afford to go out and do any number of the things my friends could afford to do. I didn't always have the newest shoes or the most fashionable school clothes.
