Deep in the woods of Southeast Ohio about 1 mile from the Ohio River is where I reside- in Firefly Hollow. After 10 years of experience in retail sales (fabrics, wallpaper, art & crafts) and 13 years experience as a drafter/detailer with architects and museum exhibit design firms I left the rat race to help my mother in her battle against breast cancer. After a year the cancer was in remission. It was then that I discovered "gardening's best kept secret"- daylilies. In 2003 I opened Firefly Hollow Garden to the public during the month of July so I could share my passion for daylilies. It also allows me to indulge in my passion for birding and photography while in the garden.
With a degree in Equestrian Studies (horses) and another in Heritage Arts (18th century arts & crafts) I now am also co-owner of a sign company- Firefly Hollow Signs. Not only do we design and fabricate signs but we also sandblast stone and glass and participate in a few art & craft shows each year.
My family- my husband Kirk/ our dogs Ruby, Semper Fi, & Hera/ horses: Answer and Hardy Beat.
I have never written professionally and even laughed at a college professor who asked if I had considered a career in writing. But now I'm giving it a try and writing from the heart.
