Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. I hauled off to Penn State University when I was 18 to learn how to become an English teacher for five years. At 23 I wound up outside of Baltimore, Md. where I became a salesman of industrial and construction supplies. Eventually I became a manager of one of those industrial supply stores and headed west to explore San Francisco.

I write frequently about the NFL (and, specifically, the Pittsburgh Steelers) at Sports Illustrated's Fan Nation site. Hopefully I'll be teaching English here in San Fran sometime in the next couple of months.
