About me - Kent Richards

About me

As a Humor Columnist, most evenings I can be found wiping drops of hot chocolate from my sticky keyboard, while attempting to draft short whimsical stories about life as seen through the bleary eyes of a senior. Actually, it's quite amazing how life has become more clear to me since my cataract removal. These stories (between 400-500 words) are for my twice monthly column "The Better Side," published in our local Arizona newspaper "The Communicator."

With a-still beating pulse-on the senior community, the bulk of my stories are derived from any small nuance that catches me as being slightly off-key, which then causes a neon sign-similar to that of a pinball machine-to light up inside my head, and without any warning whatsoever, the steel ball is rocketing out of the chute, and the game is on. My mind works similar to that of an older pinball machine, in that, I have those certain moments (even days) where my flippers are responding entirely too slowly, and as I try to maneuver the ball by pushing and pulling the machine, the tilt light comes on reminding me that tomorrow is another day.

I was recently commissioned to produce a "Welcome to my school," book for a prestigious children's school in Los Angeles. I also have many children's books that I have written, but have thus far, not attempted to publish.

Relationships & Family > Male / Female Communication Styles On checking women out

Can you imagine how awesome it must have been when man was first introduced to woman? For one thing, they met on a beautiful sunny day in a fruit filled garden. I can just imagine the bright blue sky, the perfumed smell of flowers permeating the air, and the absolute quiet of the moment. The man, probably, about six foot tall, blue eyes, blond wavy hair, and a build that would eventually be passed down to the Greek gods; appears on a path in the garden. Suddenly, he stops dead in his tracks. Before him stands a tall incredibly curvaceous woman with brown eyes and full bodied mousy brown ha...
