: About Me

If I had to use one word to describe myself, I would say passion!

The great P word kind of sumarises the core essense of Summayyah. Passion is that light that pulses from the depth of my being and drives my beliefs, informs my aspirations, fuels my ambition, reinforces my hopes and gives reality to my dreams!

The "P" word also describes a lot of important concepts and attitudes in my life, like Purity, Prayers, Patience, Perseverance, Performance... and a host of others.

Surfice it to say that the "P" word is a sneak peek into the many letters that describes Summayyah.

One of my first loves is writing, (I have many firsts!)and I have been writing and participating in literary events since I was seven.

I have worked in publishing firms, written stories for magazines, worked as a journalist, in the print and electronic media, prepared research papers for workshops, authored and published titles in a children storybook series, written several books yet to be published and picked up a couple of awards along the way in an international story writing competition for children.

Summayyah is from Nigeria, West Africa and currently resides in Australia. She is married with children.

Adding value, making a difference, reading, writing, motivating people, giving gifts...cant quite keep count!,

I know too much about ...

how I can eat my cake and have it, enjoy the goodness of two worlds, and never stop exploring the human mind, (mine included) and life

My parents always told me ...

My mother:"Don't feed on the aroma of what you will not eat..." My father; " Al least try"..."not how much...how well"

My childhood ambition ...

To be beautiful, Lawyer; Doctor; Soldier... in that order!

My favorite memory ...

Too many...but I do remember when I was ten, I came second place in a dance competition at a state house party for children in the President's company!

Why I write ...

To express and explore the many sides of me begging to escape and because I want to touch a life..somewhere, somehow.... preferably positively thank you!
