About me

Hello! My name is Rebecca. I am a 29 year old, married, mother of two. I grew up in sunny, Southern California and moved to Western Washington about 10 years ago. Along with adjusting to this move, I had to undertake many other adjustments during this period of my life.

My father died a day after my birthday on March 10, 1997. This was the worst day of my life. I had to adjust to living without my father. I mourned the loss of his presence in my life. My mother had to find a job. She was able to find one in Washington State. She and I moved to Washington in 1998.

I worked as a Nursing Assistant as I was finishing classes to become an LPN at a local community college. During this busy and stressful time, I met and married my husband. We married on February 13, 2000. During this period of my life, I had to adjust to the 'real world.'

On September 29, 2003 my first child, Jared was born. I was now a mom. I had to adjust to the incredible responsibilities of motherhood. It was becoming too difficult for me to hold down a stressful job as an LPN. I could not stand leaving my son in daycare. He would scream and cry every morning that I left. When I was six months pregnant with my daughter, Brandie I quit my job and career as an LPN to stay at home and be a mother.

Life is full of adjustments that we have to make. My past self in sunny, Southern Calfiornia has adjusted to where and who I am as my present self in rainy, Western Washington.

Usually, the full responsibility of waging the war against the time-devouring, and seemingly pointless task of housecleaning gets awarded to the already, busy mom. Those sweet, innocent babies that suddenly turned into toddler-messy-makers are responsible for most of the jumble; worse yet, they insist that they are physically and mentally incapable of cleaning their own messes (they usually express this by laying on the floor and throwing a temper-tantrum). The husband does his fair-share of contributing to the disorder. He stakes the claim that he is just "too tired" and does not "know ho...
