I'm a married 40something SAHM living in a highly diverse community in southeastern Massachusetts. I have one brilliant and beautiful daughter whom I am homeschooling.

I volunteer within my community at our library and various small town government committees. In my spare time (hah!) I love crossword puzzles and reading (Stephen King, Anne Rice, DragonLance).

I am a novice (and lazy) gardener and thoroughly enjoy experimenting in my yard - with plants and garden "art". I've learned to compost and have eliminated the use of all chemicals from my yard and gardens.

In my life before motherhood I earned a B.S. in Biology and made a great living as a healthcare finance and management consultant.

Much to his disgust, my husband has had 7 years of learning what creative things one can do with household discards! But he has learned! He first gave up on "WHERE did you get that?" He no longer ASKS "What are you going to do with THAT?" He has even given up the big eye rolls when I come home with a new treasure. Yes, I don't simply use MY discarded household goods, I actively seek the discards from other houses! You know the saying "one woman's trash is another woman's treasure" right? And you realize of course, that there are entire websites - nay TV shows - dedicated to the development...
