My writing career began in 2000 while at work during my lunch hour one day. I had joined a Christian singles group and was planning to attend an activity that evening, which was 'Poetry Reading by Candlelight'. I really hadn't ever written poetry or even cared about it that much before, but something inside sparked when I saw this event on the calendar. Someone had sent me an awesome poem by e-mail I wanted to share with the group, but when I tried to get it off the Internet, I couldn't. The Lord reassured me that I would have what I needed to share when it was time, so I went on to work. During that morning, occasionally a word would come to mind and I would jot it down, so by my lunch hour, I had 5 sets of rhyming words for a total of 10 words. The Holy Spirit poured a poem into my heart which clearly reminded me of the night I gave my life to Jesus just a little over 2 years before that day. It turned out to be my testimony, and when I shared it with the group, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. After that, poetry just kept flowing like a river to offer hope and encouragement to others, and now, I also have my autobiography published. My first book of poetry is called, "Whispers from Heaven", and my autobiography is "Through the Valleys". I am excited about my new career and the wonderful plans the Lord has in store for me and others in this writing gift. I will never forget the events of that darkest, loneliest, most tormented night of my life when I finally met the one true love of my life! It was December 31, 1997 when I experienced my life-changing encounter with the living God. I was baptized as a youth and believed in the salvation of the cross and the sacrifices Jesus Christ made for us, but had no idea of the full extent of God's love, mercy, and grace. As a young married couple, my first husband and I had been very active in our church, singing in the choir, and serving when we could. Even after our two sons were born, we continued...
