If one were to adopt a child of a different language or different cultural back ground it is only fair to that child that you begin to learn their language as much as possible. By learning as much as you can about where they come from and their native tongue, you give them not only security, but you give them trust, knowing that you spent as much time trying to relate to them, and by doing so you can create a much better relationship. Being an adopted child is hard enough, but having to adapt to new surroundings, and new people is a much bigger deal. Not learning the child's language shows...
