I am a 30-something, vertically-challenged, overweight, Black, lesbian insomniac. To make matters worse I live in Ohio. But if you're still interested you may come to think of me as a Nubian goddess in need of a cute, 21 and over person (I try not to discriminate, you know) to cater to my every whim. Or it might be more realistic to see me as a crazy woman with a screw or two loose. Whichever you prefer.
My interests are: writing, telling stories about a frog named Freddy and his aardvark girlfriend named Theresa, singing loud in the car or the shower (what's talent got to do with it?), feminism, civil rights, dancing at my stool in low-lit bars, spending time with my significant other and assorted friends, afro-puffs, dangly earrings and other jewelry, tattoos, motorcycles, eyeglasses that make me look studious instead of dorky, romantic gestures that makes me weak in the knees, well-written female characters in stories by male authors, plays, museums, art in general, good food and good alcohol, cooking, reading, traveling, my dysfunctional family. Oh, and laughing. A lot.
My dreams: to be a paid writer of poetry, short stories, memoirs (possibly under a pseudonym), hopefully a novel at some point, articles. Possibly working for the Travel Channel. And putting to use the hidden ability to be content with my life.
Ultimate goal: to die at 90, a cigar in one hand, a glass of Merlot in the other, my blonde wig cocked to the side, in a classic, cherry red Mustang convertible filled with chocolate.
My passion is ...
anything artistic.
I know too much about ...
my own opinions.
My parents always told me ...
well, my mother always tells me to never have kids. (Is she trying to tell me something?)
My childhood ambition ...
to write. And beat up boys. But I'm over the "beating up boys" part now.
My favorite memory ...
so far? The first time someone read a poem of mine and thought it was good.
Why I write ...
because I have to. because I have too much to say to hold it all in.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Virgin:The Untouched History by Hanne Blank.
My first job ...
telemarketer for Olan Mills Photography.
My best moment ...
Hmm...Not sure I've had one yet. Good ones but maybe not the best.
My inspiration ...
to be a paid writer of just about anything.
What should you look out for when traveling? Well, that all depends on your destination, and when you go. Some places are better suited for certain people. How can you say this, you ask? I'll tell you. I'll even give a couple examples to back up my argument. Then let you make up your own mind. Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio is an amusement park that can pull your intestines up through your esophagus and freeze your facial expression into one of extreme terror. This was what I looked forward to last year when I road-tripped with my girlfriend during one of their HalloWeekends. You see, at th...
