I'm a forty-something attorney in a small midwestern town. Two children, 18 (boy) and 15 (girl), a husband, and a haunting obsession to write.

Of course, as a lawyer I write every day. Preparing for a trial is like writing a three act play. Submitting an appellate brief is The Great American Novel. Though I have several novels in the making, my only publication is a legal opinion found in the Missouri Western District Court of Appeals Reporters. Not the kind of notariety I'm looking for.

Memorial Day Weekend is the running of the Indianapolis 500. On the Sunday before Memorial Day, you will find my family watching the race, making Armenian Pizza, and sipping on straws placed in buckets of iced mint leaves, gin, and lemonade. We are not Armenian, and we no longer live in Indiana, but we celebrate this day with great enthusiasm.
