Becoming a writer was always a passion for me. Until recently, however, pretty much all the writing I did was for "business purposes" - marketing information, sales programs, business plans, brochures, press releases, etc. - generally business communications. Over my career, I had been published in several trade magazines for the industry in which I worked. What I enjoyed most about that writing was taking very complicated material and putting it into thoughts and descriptions that anyone could understand.
A couple years ago, I started writing for "me." I began to write essays, commentaries, humor, anything that came to me as an interesting topic. My expanding "audience" encouraged me to keep writing and I do so to keep improving my skills. I had several of my essays published in the Philadelphia Inquirer and have recently started working as a contract writer for a marketing company.
My goal is to expand the outlets for my writing - business or my personal viewpoint of the world. I enjoy the free lance work I'm doing and hope to increase that activity by working with a broad range of topics. I enjoy learning about new ideas and I love being able to pass that information on to others.

I was just riding down the highway in my little Lectro-Ride, under autopilot, when a retro self-drive almost ran me off the road. It must have been closer than 50 feet to me! The maniac! And all I did was say, "Darn." Well, not quite darn. Of course, my Perpetua-communicator was on and The All-Hearing Computer must have heard me.
