Gloria Allen worked as an English-Spanish legal interpreter for different agencies in NYC in the 1980's and as such, came to discover the common communication gap between the non-Spanish speaking attorneys and their Hispanic clients, hindering the actual deposition process. In order to bridge this gap, she came up with the unique idea of writing a series of manuals in English and Spanish explaining what a deposition is, and the most commonly-asked questions for a number of personal injury areas. Her work was endorsed by fourteen top attorneys, including Harry Lipsig (now deceased) former President of NY State Trial Lawyers Assoc. She self-published her three books using the endorsements and sold to lawyers in 24 states.
She attended East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, OR becoming a licensed massage therapist and worked on clients for eight years until the market became glutted with practitioners, making it difficult to earn a living.
Since 2000, she has written poetry, humorous prose and currently writes and is a percussionist in a jazz trio.
She is presently a volunteer for the Presidential candidate Ron Paul's campaign.
