I remember once asking a friend if she read much. She gave me a look of disdain and scoffed loudly before replying "If it's any good they'll make it into a movie." In light of the recent spate of book to movie successes she's obviously not the only one who feels that way. It's scary to think that 58% of the US adult population never reads another book after High School (teachingsells.com).
