Who am I? I've spent a significant portion of my life attempting to answer this very question. I attended college and acquired an associates degree in biology. I became torn between the pursuit of a career in marine biology and one in genetics until circumstances arose that took my life in a different, unexpected direction.
I could explain what I currently do for a living but that will change in time. I could regale you with elaborate descriptions that detail my life's hopes, dreams, and goals but will that automatically give an accurate depiction of who I am as an individual?
What I can tell you for certain is this...I am a woman on a mission. I want to interact with my fellow human beings and exchange opinions, insights, experiences, and points of view so that we, as a species, may open up the lines of communication and understanding. I want to be a significant force in the world that influences my surroundings not just a complacent resident. One person can move mountains but it takes all of us to shape the world we live in.
Adversity has taught me the importance of standing up for my principles and beliefs. I am not a saint nor do I entertain the slightest notion of being anywhere close to perfect. I am me...flaws and all. My voice will define who I am as a person.
