The Overbrook Foundation strives to improve quality of life by supporting projects that protect human and civil rights, advance the self-sufficienc y and well being of individuals and their communities, and conserve the natural environment.
Established in 1948 by Frank and Helen Altschul, The Overbrook Foundation is a family foundation located in New York City. Its board of thirteen directors includes twelve family members and one independent director. The Overbrook Foundation has an endowment of approximately $185 million. It awarded $9.4 million in grants during 2006.
