About me

Career: CFO-COO (Shelby County State Bank) and freelance writer/author.

Education: BA, University of Iowa (English major) / MBA, Creighton University.

Residing on a scenic farm outside of Earling, Iowa with husband Doug and children, Alexandria (13) and Cole (9) whom are brilliant and charismatic. Really.

Self-published two novels: Goodbye Def Leppard, I'll Miss Those Jeans and Rubigunda. Both can be found on Amazon.

Have written several fictional short stories. Won an Honorable Mention in a Writer's Digest contest and am in the process of publishing the story into a Young Adult novel. Working on non-fiction business book with a focus on management.

Have also written numerous articles for internal and external newsletter - mostly on finance and banking.

Walking beans. It's worse than a job. It's torture. Wrestling through itchy soybean leaves, cutting the 6 foot weeds out of the fields and fighting every insect known on the planet in 104 degree heat and 150% humidity.

My best moment ...

the day I said, "I do". I know, don't cry.

My inspiration ...

My mother, of course.

Is it okay to be friends with someone who reports to you at work? Shouldn’t you only maintain friendships with your peers? I’m going to buck my (very wise) father's advice on this one.
