Find it a bit odd that a guy named Sol would have such illuminating perspectives on so many different topics? Me neither. I try to read and stay up on current events but it's not always easy because generally by the time things make it to printing they're not that current. I'm opinionated and sarcastic and think that occasionally shock value is a great asset when trying to reconstruct a person's thoughts on things. It probably works just as well when trying to reinforce a person's thoughts but I'm more for shaking things up. Where the dust settles is wholly up to you. If you're allergic to common sense then stay away from Thomas Paine and if you're not that swift then stay away from satire.
