Mark Hart is the Pen name for Art H., who, in 2007, is 49 yrs. of age and married 25 years to his best friend, Cathy. They have two grown children and live in San Bernardino, CA. Art currently (and happily) works part-time at Trader Joes in So. Cal, while he decides what to do next in life.
Art has yet to settled down in life. He has driven for the US government in Germany, sold books door-to-door in Mississippi, managed campgrounds for the Forest Service in Idaho, done campus ministry in Utah, worked as a registrar at two different schools in California and as an adjunct instructor at a JC in CA. He graduated from Utah State Univ. in Logan (a beautiful campus and area) and has degrees in ministry and religion from graduate schools in CA.
Beside NPR, the greatest intellectual influences in Art's life have been the writings of L. Wittgenstein, S. Kierkegaard, Simone Weil, Ilham Dilman and Rush Rhees. He was most influenced by his (late) PhD advisor, DZ Philips, and classmates and friends at Claremont Grad. Univ.'s School of Religion, who taught him to love philosophy, respect faiths and appreciate the eternal in time.
Favorite films include: Groundhog Day, A Fish Called Wanda, Remains of the Day and End of the Affair.
