Hello! I'm a self-employed EFL/ESOL teacher, living in beautiful Brighton on the south coast of England, with my lovely husband.
My previous working life has been spent in social and health care. I've worked as an assistant psychologist, substance misuse practitioner and domestic violence worker. All of this has opened my eyes and made me wonder about the world, in a good way.
I give free English classes at the local mosque, as well as helping to run their women's group. I'm actively involved in community activities which aim to bring different groups together, and take part in the (many) festivals we have here each year.
I became Muslim about 7 years ago, after a lengthy spiritual search, which has been the single greatest thing I've done with my life so far. I spend time every year in Algeria (my husband's home country), and I hope one day to live there - it's beautiful!
Writing is a passion and something that I just can't resist doing. I hope that I can develop my style and learn more with the help of Helium and all my fellow writers!

What level is their English? Are there cultural issues you should be aware of?
