About me - Ken Bradford

About me

My education on people and the important issues of life came during my extensive travels throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Far East, while serving our country in the U. S. Air Force.

I am the co-founder of "Life's New Beginnings", a non-profit organization, whose sole
mission is to increase public awareness on the subject of domestic violence. I firmly believe that it is our duty and responsibility to do what we can to end the violence and abuse that is inflicted on over 4 Million women every year in these United States.

I am a self-taught artist and enjoy the peace and solitude of getting lost in my paintings.  Most of my paintings are of people who have influenced my life, even though I thought I would never paint people.

I have worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years, both as an insurance agent and an insurance agency owner.  As a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), I have written many insurance training programs on both individual and business insurance and have moderated several professional insurance classes leading to the LUTCF designation.

Some may see my profile photo as a joke, but it was never truly intended to be.
I find it very difficult to find a real life hero in today’s society.  The fictional character, Shrek, seems to understand just who he is and is satisfied with that.  Shrek is consistent, not changing his attitudes or beliefs for any particular person or group of people.  He enjoys life and he lives in a place where there are no drugs, no violence and no out of control government.

I have been the Webmaster of eight personal and business websites for the past ten years.  I enjoy graphic design and the challenge of writing quality web content in order to play “cat and mouse” with Google.

For relaxation, I enjoy going horseback riding in the mountains or building sand castles on the beach.

I enjoy writing and just about anything that allows me to use my God given creative skills. I firmly believe that we all are endowed with unique talents and abilities, but unfortunately, some of us never realize just what they are.  I write for the escape from the normal daily grind and seldom write on the subjects in which I am the most knowledgeable or have the most experience.  Writing on these subjects just seems like work to me.

I visited Helium many times before I actually became a member and I was impressed by the enormous amount of talent in the Helium community. I soon realized that I could find discussion on just about any topic that would come to mind and I wanted to be a part of this environment.

Religion & Spirituality > Christian Holidays & Celebrations Bible verse-related Christmas gift ideas

There are many excellent Bible verse related Christmas gift ideas and personally I have never thought of doing my Christmas shopping within the pages of the Bible, but now that it has been brought to my attention, it's a fantastic idea. We could run down to Wal-Mart and pick up a jar of frankincense or myrrh. The three kings, commonly referred to as wise men, presented these gifts to Jesus. "And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, ...
