About me - Diane Olivia Valentine

About me

So much to say...
Shy, brave, extroverted, introverted, sad, happy, creative, dry, selfless, selfish, loving, needing to be loved. Affectionate, distant....

My best friend rests within the tattered journal. Between the well worn pages, I open up my soul to her. She receives my sudden bursts of anger, my bouts of melancholy and those emotions that eagerly leave my heart  and race down to my fingertips.
The bright red crayon that strikes the page, releasing anger, the blue-black  ink of my broken heart, the yellow orange sun that shines brightly on the rough rice paper all reflect the person that I was, the person that I am, and the person I will be...
Accepted by the friend that waits within the pages of my journal.

Currently working on the biography of black tennis great Lendward Simpson. Just had my first in my children's book series published, Olivia, the adventures of a firefly, and two of my poems appear in the newly released Kaleidoscope, available at Barnes and Noble.com  Writing and painting....life is good.
