Yes, somewhat! On a whole, democracy gives people more rights than any other form of government. You can see for yourself what's happening around the world today right on our TVs, radios, cell phones, and numerous other media devices Americans have available to them. In most communist and Muslim countries alone, human rights are not available to women and dissenters of any kind.
