About me - Rebekah Oakley

About me

I wake up every morning to the sounds of a baby bouncing in her crib. We live by a ritual that has the major points outlined by meal times. The combined total of fishy crackers consumed in one day between the two of us is astounding. I stay at home with my daughter because it is my privilege and my choice. The way the world is working I will very soon need to get a job. Seattle is a very expensive place to raise a family.

I write because a lot of things are funny to me. I write because I have always written, and when I look at things the picture of them in my head is made out of words on a page.

I am not old, but the fleeting moments of life experience I do have hit me hard. Very soon I hope to have something to show for it. I'll be starting graduate school this summer and I thank Helium for providing me with an excellent resource to get my mind back into shape.
