I started working in the real world in 1984, my first job was working for a refrigeration, heating and air conditioning company, my parents worked at the same company at the time, and they needed someone for pick up and delivering you know a strong back and week mind.
It wasn’t long and they realized I had a little more to offer, after a short time I learned to weld and how to trouble shoot the things I was repairing. I stayed with the company for two Years.
After that, I started a construction job I learned to install basement drain systems, along with framing and finishing work.
I have had a few jobs selling too. I have sold home safety equipment (smoke detectors and fire alarm systems), water treatment system for homes and businesses. These two here showed me I had a gift, talking to people and I can build a report with almost anyone and thou some of them where a challenge I had many customers at both of them. The other sale jobs where more like retail sales.
The next seven years consisted of working for a major travel trailer company, this was an awesome job; I learned aluminum fabrication, floor assembly, routing, assailable sidewall and maintenance.
I found that I liked doing maintenance and it did not mater what it was on, for four years I worked maintenance in rental properties and for major hotels chain. Most of this was repair’s after the renters moved out in the rental properties and the hotel I worked for had 105 rooms. I was chief engineer when I left the company in 2004. I worked in TN for a while doing maintenance on rental cabins.
For the last four years I have ran my own handyman company, I handle all aspects of this. This would include, but not limited to setting appointments, meeting with clients, bids, doing the work, and pay row.
I am hoping that my experiences will help other and with my ability to communicate well with others, I will advance my writing career.
