About Me
I am an average citizen journalist and blogger who loves to learn and share new information and write about all information I find. My interests are many and so are my opinions on most of my subjects; for example; collecting vintage art work signed and unsigned. I enjoy learning and writing about antiques, collectibles, politics, recycling, home decor on a budget, ideas and thoughts on how to fix problems and issues.
I enjoy blogging about saving money, home business setup, recipes, reusing anything old, finding both old and new resources which are budget conscious, my local travels by rail, my political opinions and ideas on key social issues such as poverty, global warming, renewable energy and the worldwide global food crisis.
In the past few years I have worked in the mortgage industry as a note broker, finding seller financed mortgages for mortgage companies and insurance companies building their portfolios. I worked as a health insurance coordinator for a first and one of a kind independent living style home health aide agency for disabled persons in NYC, the disabled clients had an active and often hired their own home health aide staff.
The most exciting jobs and interesting positions I had were my internship page position at the New York Public Library on 5th avenue, I worked in the stacks, the huge library is two city blocks long and seven floors below the main level, where thousands of books line shelves, the entire two blocks.
The NYC library job was the first real job I had and I really enjoyed working around many historical collections and vintage books.
In college, I worked part- time for Time Out Magazine Sales and Distribution team and the sales team was and still is an integral part of the magazine's success.
I attended Long Island University and Hunter College and majored in Journalism and minored in Liberal Arts.
I worked at the Chelsea Antiques Center one of the biggest consignment galleries in New York City twelve floors of great antiques and art works of incredible mini shops. If visiting New York City it's one of the best places to find vintage treasures in all price ranges.
I studied Interior Home Design which is a great passion and hobby of mine, I enjoy mixing vintage restored furniture into my designs
My mother has had a serious chronic respiratory disease since 1992 which has progressively gotten worse over the years. My parents are in their seventies and have a mobility problem which requires me to be their primary care giver, especially since my mother is now on oxygen and needs help with basic grooming, bathing, and medications and prepare meals. I know first hand problems of finding good health care benefits for my parents this is a very important issue for me. It's time that all Americans get a good health plan coverage plan.
I am writing full time on my blog about savings and local information blog about Ocala. I am now a university of Phoenix student majoring in Computer programming, i believe in lifelong learning and that especially in this difficult economic times that all Americans should be enhancing and learning new skills that could help them career wise.
