About me

South African-born Ingrid Brunkhorst Hurrell now lives in British Columbia, Canada with her family. She is registered with the BC Council of Social Workers and a member of the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW)
She has spent several years in training, volunteering and on staff with Youth with a Mission in South Africa, the USA, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Australia.
She has also worked extensively as editor and freelance writer and ran her own community newspaper in Cape Town, South Africa under a private practice as Social Worker.

Ingrid also actively volunteers in her local community.

She enjoys travelling, Thai food, cats, alone-times, mountains, forests and the ocean.

to be a writer when I grow up.

to be a detective; then a radio announcer.

My favorite memory ...

Times by the ocean or in a forest. Birth of my two sons.

Why I write ...

If I don't. my soul would shrivel up. I simply have to write.

Putumayo, Worship music, soundtracks like A Good Year, Bourne, etc

11th grade, in a fish & chips shop in Africa.

My best moment ...

Discovering Eternity. (Not the perfume.)

My inspiration ...

My close relationship with the Lord, immediate family, other writers, any living being really. Life itself is my inspiration.

Men have been compartmentalized over the ages as seemingly non-feeling, obnoxious and thick-skinned beings who are like the proverbial bulls in a china shop when it comes to being around people who are sensitive.
