About me - Emily Daugherty

About me

Greetings,

I'm a 27 year old, married mother of three. I'm also a part time visual art student at my local community college. I began writing in the fourth grade. I write anything and everything from short stories, to poetry, to research papers for school. I love writing. I find it to be a wonderful pastime and release. I also find it to be a great way of exercising the mind. Free-verse and word play are by far my favorite types of writing (if there is such a thing). I also love writing about ironies and sarcasms, quarks and idiosyncrasies. Also, subjects with tight minute detailed fundamentals or descriptions. I love writing with an attitude, when my anger or condescension jumps off the paper and makes a reader think, or feel where my attitude comes from. If nothing else I write to amuse myself.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

untamed

I know too much about ...

all sorts of useless information.

My parents always told me ...

to be an individual.

My childhood ambition ...

was to be a dentist.

My favorite memory ...

is what it felt like to be a child.

Why I write ...

to release myself, excerise my mind, amuse myself, and hopefully help or amuse others.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

is the white light from the computer screen and the banging of my fingers on the keyboard.

My first job ...

was in retail.

My best moment ...

is the moment when I can make someone laugh. Its one of the greatest rewards to invoke humor upon another and witness their reaction.

My inspiration ...

comes from everyone, everywhere, and everything which, I see, love, speak, and harbor in the crevases of my mental circus.

Creating beautiful beaded jewelry is one of my favorite hobbies. I began creating beaded jewelry about a year ago when I realized how expensive it was to purchase fashion jewelry at a retail price. As a crafter I knew it would be much cheaper to buy the materials and make the jewelry myself. I decided to give it a shot. As a self-taught jewelry maker I made a lot of mistakes at first. Here are some suggestions of making quality, finished pieces of jewelry. 1.) MAKE SURE YOU USE THE CORRECT STRING OR WIRE: This is a key factor.
