About me

Janette Ihnatova Dengo was born in Slovak Republic, Europe in 1973. Coming to Canada in 1986 changed my life entirely. Little did I know this at the time of my adolescent years with the obstacles, challenges and learning a new language, that I would have so many wonderful adventures in my life and be part of the universe in such a contributing way.

I am a lover and a mother, an artist, writer and passionate always reaching and exploring beyond the limits of the obvious. I enjoy observing people and nature as I sense the essence of life on many levels and dimensions.

Love for arts and passion for colour has opened my window to endless possibilities in exploring, experimenting and creating little masterpieces. I enjoy photography, painting, writing, illustrating, decorating, mixed media, jewellery design, sewing and constantly experimenting with different textures and colours.

Most of my inspiration comes from the nature and the elements. I enjoy taking walks on the beach and trails, love to hike, camp, swim and fish, watching sunsets and sunrises, and I love to have FUN - laughing to laugh some more... Did I mention that I love to LAUGH?

I joined Helium in 2007 though never began writing until early 2008 publishing mostly poetry. Then as I published, rated and read so many outstanding pieces, I learned along my Helium journey that I do totally LOVE to write. The rest is history.

Being bitten by the Helium bug isn't easy, as I had to overcome being a perfectionist in terms of writing my verses. Altering my writing a bit with more free flow was a great personal choice and added diversity to my writing style.

I have yet to sell an article to the marketplace as I am slowly venturing into that direction and also looking forward to being a Helium Channel Steward one day to help other writers reach their goals with passion for writing.
