2) My surfboard, presuming I was on a deserted island in, say, Bali, Java, or another surf rich Indonesian island.
3) My guitar.
I've got a whole carry-on list too, but that's usually stuff that I would probably be able to find no matter where I went, such as enlightenment and the love of my life.
My passion is ...
surfing and protecting the ocean.
I know too much about ...
Buddhism and being Vegan.
My parents always told me ...
to stay away from motorcycles.
My childhood ambition ...
was to be a writer.
My favorite memory ...
is of standing on a very large, purple surfboard on Kauai.
Why I write ...
to hear what my characters have to say about themselves and the world.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Moby Dick/Brokedown Melody/Iron & Wine.
My first job ...
was selling newspaper subscriptions door-to-door.
My best moment ...
was when I met my mentor in life, Daisaku Ikeda, in 1980.
My inspiration ...
is to make my mother proud.
