About me - Rich Porter

About me

My name is Rich Bernardo and I write as Rich Porter. My given name just doesn't have the same ring that my pen name has. I am 25 years old and I live in Connecticut, a beautiful state in the New England region of the United States. In 2000 I graduated high school and moved on to explore the country. In 2004 I settled back in Connecticut with my friends and family and began to write more so as a career than a hobby.

I have been writing since I was a boy and have had a few works published in various newspapers. I wrote for my high school newspaper and have taken many journalism courses through community colleges and workshops. I also blog as a hobby on a multitude of topics ranging from politics to comedy. I am a very big fan of the science-fiction and fantasy genre and most of my work is set in fictional universes and/or eras. I enjoy writing product reviews such as computer software, books and movies as well.

I found Helium one lucky afternoon after searching Google for ways to get noticed as a writer. I have never actively and aggressively pursued having my more lengthy works published. However, I hope that my experience with Helium will give me the confidence to do so in the future.

So far I have written four articles for Helium with one of them being purchased. Thank you for the opportunity, Helium!

Pinku eiga or "pink film" is a style of Japanese soft-core pornography. Nudity and sex were very taboo in Japanese films during the years after World War II and leading up to the 1960's. Eroticism in Japanese film was first introduced with an on-screen kiss in 1946 and throughout the years more and more flesh was being shown. More graphic depictions of sexuality were made illegally by independent producers and could only be viewed in single reel stag films, or adult films, as we know them today. "Erotica," soft core," and "sexploitation" are often used to describe pinku eiga films. However...
